In the last couple of years, we’ve seen the prominence of mobile web traffic grow leaps and bounds. As a result, we’ve been preaching a “mobile first” mantra to our clients for some time. Those that have made the transition are reaping early rewards as consumers are increasingly reliant on their smart phones and tablets over traditional desktops and laptops. Search engines like Google have also tweaked their algorithms to add more prominence to mobile optimized websites in their search rankings. There’s no reason not to have a website that fully leverages the possibilities of the mobile experience.
With that being said, there’s been an inside joke in the agency for some time that we’re akin to the old proverb “The Cobbler’s children have no shoes.” Quite simply, we’ve been so busy working on new solutions for our clients that we could never find the time to complete a new website that met our internal expectations. As perfectionist marketers, technologists, and designers we can sometimes be our own worst enemies.
I’m happy to report that we have finally completed our new mobile responsive website which has just gone live today. Damn, it sounds good to say that… TODAY!
We went through many iterations of our new site design before settling on this one, and even still, we’ll likely be tweaking away for some time as there’s always so many more possibilities. In the meantime, feel free to browse some new case studies, and our streamlined agency content. We’ll also be sure to keep you updated on our latest happenings on this blog, and our social media channels at Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
With that out of the way, we’re back to the grindstone to meet another client deadline for, you guessed it, a major mobile responsive website. This site is for one of Canada’s most popular tourist destinations, and it’s going to be packed with some really innovative mobile functionality that will set a new bar in digital tourism. Stay tuned for that launch announcement in the next couple of weeks.
